Meet Dr. Lyz Eidam
Care begins with feeling truly heard
I've built my career around caring for people through moments of uncertainty, change, and complex health needs. Along the way, I learned that meaningful care begins by slowing down, listening closely, and understanding the whole person—not only a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. That belief led me to create LM Behavioral Health: a place where I can help more people feel supported, understood, and actively involved in their care.
Why I Chose This Work
Helping people has always been at the heart of my work
I’ve always been drawn to work that allows me to care for people in a meaningful way. For me, that means more than asking about symptoms or moving quickly toward a solution. It means creating enough space for someone to feel safe, speak openly, and know that their experience matters.
Throughout my career, I’ve seen how much can change when a person feels genuinely heard. Sometimes, the first step forward is simply having a calm place to pause, breathe, and begin making sense of what feels overwhelming.
That is the kind of space I want to create for every person I care for: thoughtful, respectful, and grounded in the belief that you deserve to be understood as a whole person.

My Professional Journey
My experience taught me to see the whole person
My professional path began in cardiology and structural heart care, where I supported people facing serious health concerns, important decisions, and complex treatment.
My work later led me into solid organ transplant and infectious disease. There, I saw how a major medical journey can affect far more than the body. Patients, families, and caregivers may also carry uncertainty, anxiety, changing responsibilities, and the emotional weight of adapting to a new reality.
Those experiences deepened my understanding of how closely physical health and emotional well-being are connected. They also inspired me to continue my education in psychiatric mental health, bringing everything I had learned into a more complete and thoughtful approach to care.
Experience That Shapes My Care
A path built through complex, connected care
Each stage of my career has helped me better understand how physical health, emotional well-being, and personal circumstances can affect one another.
Cardiology & Structural Heart Care
Supporting people through serious health concerns, complex treatment, and important medical decisions.
Solid Organ Transplant
Caring for patients and families through evaluation, uncertainty, recovery, and significant life changes.
Transplant Infectious Disease
Understanding the ongoing medical and emotional challenges that can accompany complex health needs.
Psychiatric Mental Health
Bringing these experiences together through thoughtful, personalized, whole-person psychiatric care.
Beyond the Medical Journey
I saw how deeply a medical experience can affect every part of life
During my work with transplant patients, I supported people through evaluation, uncertainty, major procedures, recovery, changing medications, and the many adjustments that continued afterward.
I also saw what was happening beneath the surface.
Patients were carrying fear, uncertainty, and questions about what life might look like next. Families and caregivers were managing their own worries and responsibilities, often while trying to remain strong for someone they loved.
Those experiences showed me that even when medical care is moving forward, the emotional impact may still need attention, understanding, and support.

A Turning Point in My Journey
I wanted to care for more of what people were experiencing
I began to understand that I did not want to support only the physical side of a person’s health. I also wanted to help address the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily challenges surrounding it.
Like the movement of the ocean, adjustment is not always a straight or predictable path. There may be moments of calm, periods of uncertainty, and new waves of change along the way.
That realization led me to continue my education in psychiatric mental health. It allowed me to bring together my clinical experience, my understanding of complex health needs, and my commitment to listening to the whole person.
It ultimately changed the direction of my work—and brought me closer to the kind of care I had always wanted to provide.
Why I Founded LM Behavioral Health
I wanted to help more people feel heard and supported
Throughout my career, I saw how difficult it can be to find care that feels personal, thoughtful, and connected to the whole person.
I created LM Behavioral Health to offer psychiatric care through telehealth while staying directly involved in each person’s care.
For me, this practice brings together my experience, my values, and my commitment to helping more people feel understood.

About Dr. Lyz
A little more about me and my approach
My experience in cardiology, transplant, and infectious disease showed me how closely physical health and emotional well-being are connected. I wanted to support more of what people were experiencing, not only the medical condition in front of them.
It helps me look at the full picture. I consider emotional concerns alongside physical health, medications, medical history, and the changes someone may be navigating in daily life.
It means understanding you as more than a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. I take time to learn what you are experiencing, what matters to you, and how your health may be affecting different areas of your life.
Yes. I provide your evaluation, treatment planning, medication management, and follow-up care directly. Building that ongoing relationship helps me understand your needs more clearly over time.
I provide care in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Being able to communicate in the language that feels most natural to you can make it easier to express what you are experiencing.
I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable speaking openly. You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. My role is to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help you understand the possible next steps.
